NEVER jump with CARBON bars OUCH lucky escape!!!!!!

Just a reminder that you should never jump with 100% carbon bars, although i must say it was a 5ft drop off i did!!

Funny how it broke at the brake lever clamping area. Sure you didnt over tighten the lever?

EDIT: Actually its a good inch away from the clamp so maybe not

within an inch means it is still probably an over tightened lever, or from the lever slipping on the bars.


Carbon bars are fine for jumping guys..... just have the proper carbon bars for what your doing. IE, if you plan on riding hard, you must be running carbon DH bars. All mountain etc carbon bars wont cut it

Yes it is approx an inch away from the brake clamp, infact its a very good inch away, my levers are never that tight, if you over tighten them and come off, they snap instead of move round the bars

Can you buy carbon DH bars??? i have just been looking for a replacment bar and can find nothing but alloy for DH use or at the very least a cxarbon wrap but it does state they should not even be used for DH

Let me ask my coworker what he uses tomorrow at work. Hes about 250 lbs. Doesn't dh, but hes hard as hell on his his bikes (hes def a true all mountain guy). With his weight, he has definitely proven his bars work.
