Retro Newbie
hi
i have just got some pace rc36 pro class 2 with 1" ahead steerer
and i have an old orange clockwork that uses the threaded system
can anybody tell me what i need to do to be able to use my new forks with my old bike.

i have looked around a few boards and am totaly confused

any advise will be greatfully received.

thanks

hi
thanks for the info

i dont have the new forks yet they are still in the post

the steerer length on the advert said 120+ which should be ok for me even if i need an extender.

but as they are rc36 pro class2 i dont think i can get the steerer out.
once they arrive i'll check.

but if not can't i just buy a 1inch threadless headset and new stem?

sorry for my ignorance but i thought this would by quiet a good 1st diy project

thanks in advance for your help

Unfortunately Pro Class 2 forks were the first of the pressed-in steerer jobs that Pace produced.

There is not really a successful[read: safe] way to swop these steerers so the best bet is to sort a threadless 'Aheadset' and clamp on stem as you say :D

thanks all for input and help
i am going to try the aheadset and stem route and see how i get on
cheers
