iv'e been getting on quie well with schwalbe nobby nics in 26x1.8 they come up a little small so more like a 1.7 nice and grippy when you need it and yet still fast rolling geax barrow extreme seem very good on paper but i heared they are a tight fit havn't tried them yet to find out but will do some time soon

why would you want skinny tyres ? i never go below 2.35's but find the bigger you go the better the grip , well i use 3.0 nokian gazzalodis offroad

I've been using Cont 1.5 since they came out. Great on front or back.
Great in the mud and good in the dry

ChainReactionCycles sell them I think. They work best for me at low pressure 30ish psi on the front
