Can anyone tell what model/year it is?

Prob not original, seller says xt/lx components, sachs, diacompe, sun rims with xt hubs etc

How much cash is needed to refresh the suspension on one of these? Elastomers/springs?

Never had a full susser, so could be a fun project :)

Looks like a stripped 854 to me. Others may know more.

Consensus is to use the elastomer from city bike saddles to refurbish - search on here for more!

Looks like a 92, could be a 93, would depend on the size of the headtube, 92 used 1.1/4 93 switched to 1.1/8, looks like the fatter headtube though so i'd go for 92.

That one is an 18".

It's had the rear shock changed, standard bike had two black rubbers with yellow plastic spacers (most have rotted away and broke by now), there was an upgrade which was a foam bumper but like the originals most of these will have been replaced or be well past the sell by date.
Seen a number of things being used for the rear shock including suspension bushes off a truck so no big deal.

Model range in 92 went 552 (steel frame), 652, 752, 852, 952, the 852 was the XT model.

Very cool bike, even with the limited travel, bonus with the Vectors 8)

I reckon it's an 853. The attachment for the elastomer/strut on the seat tube was modified slightly for the 854.

Definitely good to have the Vectors though. Go on - join the Proflex club :D

Thanks for the replies guys! Not decided if it's worth the drive to pick it up yet.. about 6h

Always cool with some originality. Bikes today look so much alike, no room for vectors etc. Guess it's all down to weight.. Or big OEM-deals...
