Name that bike!

acgower

Retro Newbie
I have an old vintage frame, currently been fixing it up a little. However there are no decals or badges on the bike.

Can anyone identify this bikes make or model?

Re:

Frame outwardly very similar to Galaxy Mixte I know these route the rear brake through holes in the split top tube bracing, the seat tube lug is very similar, components are not original. Some more photos would be good!

Re:

Lovely job, that blue looks awesome!
I suspect that acgowers one may well have been metallic red,if it's early 80s the original Dawes paint didn't last well and would have had Weinman centre pulls badged as Dawes with plate straddle fittings, the rear had a roller on the saddle clamp to aid cable lines. My Mother has one which my wife rode at Eroica last year I'll try to find a picture.

I think that's a Galaxy! Having ridden one(when no one was looking!) They ride really well, are faster than they look and will take a big touring load too! They came with a matching steel rack made by Dawes originally but I don't suppose many of these have survived.
