Mystery GT MTB ?

Hi all - I spoke to a guy while down the coast recently who had a GT bike, it had been given to him & he didn't know much about it, I cant recall the model, but the odd thing about it is that it had what looked like to be a gearbox at the bottom bracket (he told me it wasn't electric & it was chain drive) - any clues ?

Thank guys a bit of googling & it was the I-Drive, although i need to google some more to find out what it actually does - that Concept gearbox bike is interesting
