Is it just me or do the Alu frames all look the same and very hard to tell apart unless a real 'well known' bike (orange, pace, Marin early/mid 90's)

Probably just a generic one rebadged.

EDIT

Already replies, took me half an hour to type and send that lol.

areto ( later a-pro) made most of these frames, at first they were on h-iend stuff as is the norm then it filtered down to the cheapies
the more branded frames if you look thru the older catalogs you'll see
the same drop outs ,canti hangers and thus the same or a variation of it
scott superlite from 91 being a prime example of a hi-end one, £800 ish
in 93/4 you could buy a falcon gladiator with this frame and acera/alivio
groupset (? ) for £200
thw asr alpinestars in my shed has this frame too

Turned mine into this:

Hi.I thought i would be a DBR.It has deore xt frt and rear derailluers.1 1/8 headset. But anyway would make a good light bike. Thanks

i think the early IFT were a variant of this type of frame as i said
earlier, compare your IFT to an early scott superlite

Rear dropouts look identical to mine (see my sig - could do with better detail pictures), as does the rear canti hangar. Yours has a second set of bottle cage bosses but is missing the rear rack mounts. They're both very similar frames.
I take it you don't have a down tube gusset?
We've established that mine isn't a DBR, so I suspect yours is also something different.

Well i am stumped.I would really like to know,i mean why would one put xtr and deore xt on a cheap frame.Serial number has to mean something.
Cm4030009.Posible CM the brand or model. 403,march of 1994.0009 the ninth frame made. What is CM?
But Mikee is right, they look similar and are light frames.
