Walls should do far more than that, unless in Edinburgh obviously.

I bet that stinks.

The welding on the bike on page 2 is very bad... I've had a few early Aluminium bikes and non were that poor. Although most were chucked together in a far eastern factory, and not hand built by a master craftsman.

Now shut it and give me some peace.

Nobody said they look 'good' just mechanically sound.

Looking good doesnt always qualify as well put together, a bit like me.

Far east frames: one guy welds gussetts all day. His welder is set up for gussetts. The next welder does seat tubes. His welder is set up for seat tubes. They'll be pulse mig welding 3mm aluminium all day and everday

The one man band has to weld the whole frame, often with better, thinner tubing. Its the mechanical joins that are important.
