My new project : Single Speed with tubular Spinergy Rev-X

Hello, I had a little project in a corner of my head, to make a fixie, based on a old unknown (but very light) road frame...

And today, I made an inexpecting discovery : a couple of Spinergy RevX 700c (for tubular tires), painted in white (ex race team), for 100€ !

So my project could now become serious !

But I have no idea how to turn my 8 speed cassette into fixed gear ?

Anybody here can explain me how to do ?:?:

For information, at the end the frame would be black, with white components.

But overall, I have no money to invest in this project (maybe 50€ max !).

You might be able to use this to convert the hub to accept a track cog and lockring. Do some research before you buy it, though!

You'll have trouble running a fixed gear on that frame due to the vertical drop outs unless you find a 'magic gear' or fit an eccentric BB

keep that frame for a geared project, and find one with track ends or horizontal dropouts for your fixie.

I suppose a framebuilder could always remove the dropouts with new track ones.....

What I love in fixies is the simplicity.
But I am not sure Spinergy accept the torque..

So, if I only make a single speed, there are no more problem with my vertical drop ?

In this case, I will only keep the front brake.
Is it possible to use it with a rotating handle (grip shift) insted of brake lever ?

je crois que le problem est avec la chaine, et leur tension. Avec un fixie, il faut que tu peut deplacer le roue un peu avant ou arriere pour mettre la chaine sur tension. Avec les 'dropouts' verticale, il y a pas de possibilite de ajuster le position du roue.
