Yeah, will have to be a straight-through cable run, saves me trying to find the golden-hen's-tooth back-stop though! 
Got some red cable I've never used, think it's only gear, but fingers crossed...
Kona butted chro-mo, going by the '91 catalogue scan, but not listed in white, so maybe a '90, will check if there was a white option then. Although the paint under the paint may well not be the original either, it does look it to me...
The Cinder Cone got the Kona light butted chro-mo, I'll have a closer look if there's any way to tell them apart when I've got a bit more time. I guess the frame weight might confirm it? Haven't got any scales that go over 1000g though
