they are my mates! it is really funny seeing them on tv as they are both really down to earth. both big mountain bikers too.

i think they could have editted it a little better as it comes across a bit straight. also the commentry (lisa tarbuck) would have been far better with a bit of humour. but hety, its well worth a watch

Yes caught a bit of this - thought it was him - isn't he a motorbike racer?

he certainly is. Big gun in the IOM TT. one of the fastest road racers in the world.

also races under the hope factory team banner on occasion

thought it was good.
Reckon the BBC are investing in Guy as the next fred dibnah - quirky, likeable, northern eccentric who likes to see how things are made.
Would have been better if the two fellas were "treated" equally - came across a bit like Guy and his lacky.

Me and the missus caught it by chance and didn't know anything about the series. After a couple of minutes I was starting to think 'what an annoying high pitch voice', then I thought 'ah bloody hell knock off the bloody northernisms', then after about ten minutes I'd had enough, clueless as to why it ever got commissioned but hey ho some of you like it but I'd rather eat hot coals than watch that again.

he of the fire I recall

I did think the northernisms were a little bit much, but soon got used to it. Also instantly thought of Dibnah, and now that you mention the IoM TT, i knew that i'd seen him before.

I quite enjoyed it, and reckon i'd watch it again

.

Meant to watch it but missed it
Is it on an iplayer somewhere?
Is Guy doing the TT this year? Didn't he have a huge off last year?
Hope he's well as he is, or appears to be, something a bit different in the paddock :D
