Hi there, I see a lot of poeple posting their builds here, and although I see a couple of Lobo builds, I thought I would share mine too as there are no two alike...
It all started about 14 years ago (or somewhere around there) when a friend of mines bought the STS when it came out, I rode it for about two minutes and fell in love with the design, how it rides, colors and everything else.
Now I'm all grown up and I've been after a Lobo for a while but they are hard to come across, specially in Miami where there almost no downhill bikes. I did find a GT STS-1 so I bought it and felt like I travel in time to back then when I tried it for the first time...
A few months later, I found an STS Lobo frame on ebay and couldn't resist, and decided to get it and take the bitching from the wife
My original idea was to sell the STS-1 and put all the parts into the lobo, but I came across this site and decided to keep both as you all say KEEP THEM! LOL
So it started with the frame
Then I got the fork and wheels... I decided to go modern as the original parts are way to hard to find and I want to see this baby riding already
Then I installed the drive train that I had from my hard tail when I turned it into single speed. Polished XTR M960, SRAM X9 rear derailleur, X-7 shifters
A few days later I got miscelanious parts from ebay, Avid Elixir brakeset, ESI chunky grips, Kore handle bar
And today I installed the red carbon stem spacers, tubes and tires.... And VOILA! (I still have to cut the seat tube, I know)
So there you go, now I have the STS, the Lobo and an LTS-DH on the way
Ride safe everybody...
