Who are you going to get to do the paint?
The only reason I ask (especially given your family connection) is because I know Argos in Bristol have the correct decals.
My mtb doesn't have decals, the name and logos appear to have been applied as stencils after the primer and a base coat (or two) of silver were sprayed. The top coats of blue / black were applied and then the stencils removed. By the look of it lacquer was than applied over it all.... classy.
Keep us posted on the rebuild please, by the sounds of it, it will be quite something.
