Been on here for years but always been in the background lurking rather than contributing.
Anyhow, I’ve always loved marins since my first mtb aged 12 which was a 1990 zolatone palisades. A few years ago I wanted to replace that so ended up with a 1990 team bought off here which I’ve still got.
Then a few weeks ago another bike I’ve always wanted, an early frs came up for sale as a frame only so I snapped it up then realised I’d not built up a bike like this since the 90’s!
This was it after it arrived and I gave it a quick polish
And this is it now almost complete. Just waiting for a front mech to arrive hopefully tomorrow and it’s done. Maybe I’ll add some bar ends at some point but not too sure yet.
It’s not a rebuild of the original spec but instead is rebuilt how I fancied it. The purple and blue clash but I don’t care because that to me is how 90’s bikes were.
