Found some battered stainless steel mudguards in the loft. Dented and bent, some time later there fitted. Not perfect, you can see some ripples if you're close up. They match the bike which is far from perfect. Some stay tweaking is needed. I deleted the crappy pictures and hope to take some better ones tomorrow.

I have ridden the Royal and apart from over shifting off the large ring and not going on to the granny ring it was lovely, very pleased. Brakes surprisingly sharp after a few applications. Pictures later.
I had to change the saddle and bars on the E stay as my wrists wanted a divorce and my butt was so numb I wasn't sure if it was still attached.
