My $85 Klein Impulse buy ... KLEIN "Little" Rascal

I would keep like it is..

Maybe if everything matched, but the fork fit bugs be too much and I just don't like the mc1s on the rascals. I think the fork was actually off a 18" frame.

Already stripping down a set of rockshox mags and paint matching them. I can probably fund the whole build just selling the fork and mc1.

Re:

Got the thing all apart and had the LBS pull the headset. ready to start the rebuild. The MC1 went down the road for a good $$$ so looks like this will be pretty much a free bike when complete :)

I am working on paint matching some Mag21s and the new stem and handlebar arrived this week. Should look a little more proportional when complete.

It really is small. that's my NOS Klein Attitude in the back and its a medium.

Re:

Started messing around with this little Guy again. Still lots more to go :)

I sold the non-matching fork and MC1. Covered the cost of the bike and all the bits I bought for the build so this is a freebee. Good thing. Its Hobbit sized ... doesn't take up too much space.

I don't like the MC1s on the 1" Kleins. I think it looks more balanced this way.

Subtract:
- MC1
- Fork
- XT Threaded Headset

Add:
- Control Tech
- Specialized Bar
- Rockshox Mag 20s
- Vetta SP Saddle

Re:

Nice find for an incredible price !!
But please !
Don't compare it to those such ugly and ridiculous 29"

Haha ...

I'm just saying the looks dwarfed by the 26" tires. Sorta like a 29er.

The new 29ers aren't all bad. The carbon FS style ones are a little like a modern F1 car. Not as pretty as the old ones. The boutique steel rigid 29ers are quite nice ... I'll bet they'll be the desired retro bikes of the future for today's generation.

The seller didn't spell Klein right. Just one of those flukey deals.

The swap idea had occurred to me, but it's tricky and $$$y.

I'm not sure on the actual size. It's 14" centre of the bb to the top tube.

It has a couple of little marks on it, but it looks real good and she's a nice colour of green. It's all tore down now. The fork and mission control stem/bar will end up on fleabay. They don't match and I'm just not a fan of the mc1s on the rascals or pinnacles.

NOTE TO SELF: Search Kline as well

Re:

Getting there. A chain and some cable bits and I'm in business.
