My 1988 Raleigh Memphis

needs mudguards and rack to make the perfect gentleman's velocopede...

I quite fancy one, maybe the Montage from 1990.

Strangely mine never came with a quick release front wheel.

I think that my one had only been in the shop a few days (as it was a new model out).

I suppose the quick release could have been added on later builds.

Mine was bought in Nov 88.

Quality, I also had a Maverick the GT with the same frame as the Memphis and flat barts not the ATB as that had the Mustang frame and risers. I really wanted the Memphis but they just wouldn't discount it at all so I couldn't afford it. I so wanted the Suntour indexed gears, Biopace and a Q/R front wheel.
I nearly bought a decent condition Maverick some months back but the seller would not ship and it wasn't worth it for a £30 bike.

Carl.
thank you! I've looked every where to confirm a maverick with a gt frame, I thought I was going mad and remember having one in 87 or 88 for Christmas. I could remember the triangle cut out, in the rear drop out. I've seen mavericks in later years with a curved brazed metal plate, some with the worlds ugliest welding on a flat stamped drop out, I've seen the tange mk1 version. and I've hunted everywhere looking for a mk2,

Memphis seem to be more common, I had the att 23 maverick, with forged drop outs, from a 5 star dealer, singleton cycles in Swansea, I think it was, I bent it, like a banana, when I came off one day, broken leg, arm, rib and a witness said, I was lucky to be alive,
