Mudguards,retro or not?

The 98 clockwork and p7 had them too i imagine the others in their range did too
Do they still put crud mounts on the up tube?

Often we get thick clayey mud and the next thing that happens is that the guards get clogged too!

That said, after my 35th birthday I started to think that guards were a good idea, and now use them. I'm also too old at 42 now to be cool anyway... Probably it was because with two kids I had less time to look after my bikes.... :D

commuter/cruiser/shopper, yes mtb, no. unless its yours and you want them of course

They can be retro the same as anything else (MK1 and 2 Crud / Raceguard spring to mind). Can't stand the look of them myself but do fit them as soon as the weather requires 'em as I can't stand a soggy wet arse. I take 'em off as soon as I can when the better, drier weather arrives (that'll be that week in July then...).

Silly Man

 I entered my 1983 Cleland into December's BotM competition and left the mudguards on. Clelands always had mudguards, but if I'd taken them off I might have won!

I might take them off, re enter it, and see if I can triple the votes?

Tupperware. All of it.

what i learnt from here is: leave them off for beauty shots for retrobike, put them back on when you actually want to use the bike in wet weather!
