i've been on there for some time with no problems. need a good pop-up blocker tho. doesnt seem that long ago that the VRC forum on mtbr.com started (thanks to eric

it's OK - lots of knowledge there but it's got an american bias (naturally). I like the fact that our site is British and the routes we talk about, the things we share in common are because we are British (and our close European neighbours of course!). Nothing aganist the american contingent, just when you're swapping parts, buying stuff etc it's nice it's close to home and we can all meet up from time to time too! Big up Retrobike! :D

couldn't have said it better 8)

And you gets lots of this:

Let me get this straight...you pirated parts from two other crappy Outposts...to build up one crappy Outpost?

I use Mtbr alot. Its a fantastic source for everything. The problem is that it is very user unfriendly and has SOME unfriendly users.

Well I must say I disagree, I think the American members are some of our most helpful and valued friends on here and RetroBike would be a far poorer place without them.

And surely you'd give Repack Rider the quote of the week award for "Some people my age are old"?

On the MTBR VRC you see different bikes, particularly older bikes. I think Retrobike and MTB VRC complement each other really well.

I didn't say they weren't, and I agree with you completely, it's just nice Retrobike is primarily a British forum.

I think it's fair to suggest that the attitude is generally poor there. There's much criticism for the sake of criticism and frequently not of the constructive type. Yes, probably just a few bad apples, but typically enough to spoil the experience of the whole bunch. Hence, my frequent attendance here.

Forget the I'm from here they're from there talk....this is the World Wide Web regardless of where you hail from. ATMO. I've sent more than 30 frames into the UK this past year. Those are frames that were wanted and cherished by people on the right side of the A pond. Proof that shipping costs and whereabouts have nothing to do with ones passion to own a particular bike.
