Mtb are meant to be riden

I don't like wet weather.
I don't want to be eaten by a bear.
I don't like my wheels to leave the ground.
I can't in any seriousness use words such as stoked or gnar.
What does PNW mean to me?
Probably Not Worth (it).
Have a nice day everyone, whatever you do with your bicycle.

Let's assume the manufacturer gets to define what an artefact is meant for.

If previous years mtbs were meant to be ridden, the manufacturer would encourage servicing, repair, upgrades.

But they don't.

They want the same buyer to get a new bike, and throw the old one away.

The advertising almost always tells you how much better this new one is to everything that came before.

So...
mtbs are meant to be ridden
... for about 2 years, then replaced.

Consequently just restoring an old bike is an act of rebellion against disposable culture,
