Motorbike Coil Shocks Seizure Solutions

Alas my scooters coil shocks have seized

Is there a way to remedy this short of replacing them. Is static friction the likely problem or something else.

They've not had a hard life and are only 18 months old but the hard winter and all that salt may not have helped :?

They do move but are very stiff and dont react to much more than a big pot hole. MOT is due in August, will replace if I have to but alternative solutions are welcome

Any way you can remove and take them apart? If you're going to have to replace anyway, it might be worth trying to fix?

I can remove them easily enough but once I've done that I do not know what to do next hence my question
