Retro Newbie
Hi all,

Did post this in post 1998 bikes, but seems to be full of MTB! Admin, please delete. Am new to Retro Bike. I've just bought my second road bike - advertised as a 2008 Wilier Lampre. It's alu framed, with carbon rear stays and forks. It has Campagnolo Centaur fitted, although someone has fitted later Mirage calipers and front mech.

I'm just looking for a bit more info! Google images only has 2 images of it, but it's mainly of the team bikes from the same year. Looking at the Campagnolo catalogue from 2008, I should have skeleton Centaur brakes fitted.

I paid £325 for it, which I thought was a good price as it runs like a dream, wheels are new, as are the cassette and chain.

Here's a couple of images:

Team Lampre rode Wilier bikes for a number of years

by 2008 an alu model wouldn't have been a full team replica, it'd be a lower-end machine with a team paint job to look cool. Still a quality article though.

Re:

Knew it wouldn't be a team bike, certainly not for the price! It rides beautifully, much much better than my previous Bianchi. Its completely silent when on the move, and the Mavic freewheel sounds great. Just need to match up the Centaur, match the seat post to the bars/stem and it's perfect.
