Morati Titanium MTB fork

A word of warning about these forks to those tempted to bid...

A friend of mine bought one new a couple of years back off the (sort of part time) UK importer and when we examined it, found it to have a substantial design fault.

The steerer tube was only joined to the fork crown at the bottom, (where the mud goes up the steerer) and at the top where a crown race would sit, it would wobble and freely move seperated from the top of the crown.

This looked dangerous to ride let alone race or hammer, so he took it up with Morati (I believe in the Czech Republic) and it's still ongoing.

It may have been a one off? Who knows, but check out if it's joined in two places at least, before buying, as the one we saw was inherently dangerous and very likely to fail.

Morati haven't gone bust, they just don't make bike stuff anymore. Originally an aerospace Co. called MORA they diversed into the bike ti stuff hence MORA TI. Now owned by Honeywell.
