Monolith Rebound Pix

Re: Monolith

Here’s a picture of my Monolith. I rode it a ton back in ‘93-‘94 and raced it at the Mammoth Kamikaze twice. I actually was the one that fabricated the frames for Spencer. Somewhere I have pictures of all the parts and tooling. Funny to think back on it, I fabricated at least the first 3 in my parents garage before I opened my shop. That was back in 1992, time sure does fly by.

Cool, so what's the relationship between your smooth Klein-style smooth welded frame, and the more conventional beads of the Monolith that Mr K pictured, and also the similar one that Ron Covell is shown fabricating in his videos?

We'd love to hear more here and over at the Facebook @Aluminum Frame Builder group.

All the best,

Re:

I worked for Ron Covell for 2 years and then started my own business. We fabricated the original Monolith frame and Ron didn’t want to do any production frames. I was and still am a huge Klein fan. The frame I built for myself has the smoothed out welds and internally routed cables. I did it just because I could spend the extra time detailing it. I’ll dig up some pictures from back then.
