Modolo brake help

Can any one tell me how to dismantle the brake leaver from the hood and remove the cable stop on this Modolo brake - circa 1984. I have looked on the Mavic Super Pro 430 engineering drawings on a back catalogue in Velobase and they should all come apart.
I need to have this re-annodised to make it fit with SSC components so they must be dismantled totally first. The hood is plastic (not metal as some of these are) and the pin holding the lever it has two proud ridges about 2mm tall at 12 and 6 o'clock on the inside suggesting a special tool was used to assemble and possible disassemble. I am hoping (and its a long shot) I can punch the pin out out but need to know which side to hit. I don't want to damage the pin (I don't have spares) and don't want suggestions from someone who has not done it before. Removing the cable stop round ferrell is another problem - it has two round rings to secure it which I assume are both threaded . Grabbing them with fingers and twisting is not working ( my fingers are not that powerful). I dont want to grab with pliers either. This brake is very similar to campagnolo levers - so someone must have done it.
Many thanks in advance.
