Modernish wheels, bouncy fork & disc brakes

My daily ride, the Trek in my signature, suffered a frame fracture 2 weeks ago. Trek have been very good and offered a top of the range 2011 aluminium frame and shock as a replacement under their life time warranty. Sadly due to the nature of 'progress' over the last decade, to get this frame up and running a lot of my old parts won't be compatible and to start with I'm going to need the following items (second hand is fine), which I'd possibly be open to swap with my recent 1996 Kona Lava Dome build.

1. 120mm Fox Fork (with lock out)
2. Front and rear disc wheels
3. Front & rear discs, calipers, hoses and levers

Now this is a tentative step to see what's available, I wasn't expecting my bike to fracture and a bike budget hadn't been factored into this part of the year. Next spring was going to be the next 'spend' and that was only going to be for a new fork!

The Kona build can also be found in my signature, but the guise in which I may be open to swaps is as the photo and spec list below. I do have to consider that I may need to split the bike and sell the parts in order to pay for the Trek frame to be built up.

May well have a set of deore disc on 117 wheels and a set of hope x2 (mono mini) brakes for sale if my RM frame sells oh and a set of Marzocchi am3's if they're any use.

Hi,

I have centre lock 180mm and 160mm rotors complete with the "centre locks" in 8 or 9/10 condition. I believe they are XTR. I've loaned out my Shimano manual so can't confirm this but they have model numbers SM-RT97M and SM-RT97 respectively marked on them.

Of course it depends on what wheels you buy if these will compatible or not without adaptors.

Any way looking for £5 each plus £15 postage if you're in a hurry or £5 posted in England later in the month.

Shedobits - would be interested in both those rotors if Nick C doesn't want them. Can wait till end of month as I will be away 12th till 19th Oct. Ta.

I'm trying to find a package, perhaps a little optimistic on my part, so deal away guys but thanks for posting.

Thanks for the info, can you supply any pics and what hubs and spokes are bound to the 117's?

High end I think, but if they are only to be offered for payment, I'll have to sell off the Kona and some of the parts from the Trek.

Hi Nick. Wish I could help with the parts, but I'm a bit short of spares at the moment.

As for wheels, I'd recommend these: http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_ ... cts_id=407

I got some XC/AM wheels from Superstar (which are unfortunately sold out at the moment) and they're brilliant. Cartridge bearing hubs, light wight and good quality. Magazines are giving them good reviews.

Best of luck!
