I am after a pair to use with clips ...

I have now bought 3 pairs off eBay and none fit ... too big too small ... argghhh

I have been to a number of jumbles and no good ...

So I have given up and will buy some modern vintage look alike shoes ...

Anyone bought any of these and have any thoughts?

There is a pretty good summary of what is on offer here;

Re:

I have some and they are Italian sizes.

To get a fit, stand on some paper and draw around your largest foot and measure it. You need to then compare Italian sizes with cm and order from there.

Not sure at the era you are looking at but I came from the plastic sole era and i have found that Carnacs run big and the Merckx Podio's run small (ps I consider myself as a sz 45 now , used to be 44?)

Re:

Done that = 26cm.

I am a 42 almost always except SIDI shoes which I take a 43.

I want to use cleats either nailed or bolted.

I've got the wooden soled Detto and I use them with toe clips on my Merckx when I'm in a 80"s mood. I love them. My foot is 27 cm and I've got them in a 44 with thin socks and a 45 with winter socks.

OK ... so my original question stands, anyone got any experience with the modern retro style shoes?

A year ago, I bought a pair of these, size 44 (my normal shoe size is 43,5, (very roughly 9½) and they fit a treat: came with cleats for clips and compatible with LOOK mounts - I am very pleased with them.

I can see from this website that the price is now about £27 more than what I paid for mine but they're still a lot lower than Dromarti or Marresi :)
