I am looking to order an On one, I have the possabillity of ordering an Inbred 18" Barry white (have thought about buying an inbred several times in the past, bu I love the Barry colour scheme and it is forcing my hand) ...Or a Summer season 456 (bare metal with laquer frame...also quite sexy) in good condition second hand.

I already have a Pace RC40 100-130mm fork that I wish to use. this presents me with my confusion. The 456 summer season is much more hardcore in design than I would usually buy, but the fork I have is ideal in temrs of travel length for the frame.

However the inbred has a weight advantage over the 456, and is much mor ein the style of XC bike that I have previously owned. But it is designed around 100mm forks. Obviously I could use the pace dialled down to 100mm.

Should I go for something a little different, a little heavier than my usual in the form of the 456 summer season, or should I go for what I know and live with the fact that the forks will be limited most of the time.

I have been contemplating this conundrum since friday.

(oh the 456 is cheaper (infact I have been offered it with a king headset in it for less than the cost of the Barry inbred.)

i would say go for the 456 on the basis that you have other xc bikes in the stable already, you'd have ANOTHER xc bike if you got the barry as opposed to something aimed at a different style of riding and if you don't like it you could sell it and probably not lose too much money because it is already used.

.

Sounds, to me, like you want to go with the Barry. So maybe change the forks? If your dead set on keeping the forks the Summer season seems like the sensible choice

Get the Barry I reckon. Sure you can wind the forks out on bigger descents if necessary.

I am sort of set on the forks, I object to having to pay more for modern forks than I plan to spend on a frame.

I think Jonnyboy666 has a good idea, Buy the 456, try it, move it on if it doesnt agree & then buy a Barry.

Dam, still unsure. (i never normally have this level of indecision in chosing a bike purchase!)

There's no Luuuuurrv, for this Barry from me!!

My 2005 RC40's were the best forks I've ever had (currently running Fox Floats on the 5). Often think about getting another pair. 8)

Not sure about the frame. My pal's got an inbred but wants a 456 is that's any help.

The Poll may now close...I ordered the Barry :P (what-a-mistake-a-to-make-a :? )

Aye!! does nobody listen to a word I say?

I said d...oh, nevermind!

I hope you enjoy your new frame.Nothing beats that new bike feeling. :D

Oh I am 50% sure I have made the wrong choice...I went onto the site to order some of there excellent value Oury grips for a different build and it just slipped into the shopping cart...I have no idea how it happened!
