Modern Campagnolo !

I find even modern campag gear changes are refreshingly louder than shimano. Just as it has always been :)

A bit like car manufacturers Shaun! They soon want to re-design their new car yet again

There's no need for it

you do understand that this is an aerodynamically designed specialist TT crankset?

you can also get a modern campag crankset that looks like this

and even the poshest, most expensive non-aero crank looks like this

Yes aware of that matey, but its just for 'looks' with that thing, No point having only one side to look aero if the back of it is still standard and crank arms that resemble paddles! The none drive side arm is terrible too! Why on earth did Campagnolo think the base of the crank arm with a squared edge can be 'aerodynamic'

Couple of things.
Campag DON'T think its aero. They are pandering to the triathlon market, mostly middle aged blokes with more money than sense, it looks aero, so they'll sell more. At a massively marked up price.

Also, i'm pretty sure that Campags CAE department is a couple of blokes who shrug enigmatically every half hour and get paid far too much for doing it. Lots of their current stuff makes me go "eh?" and wonder if any optimisation has been done, of if they've just made it, ridden around for a few days, then stuck it in the catalogue.

These I really like, nices cranks I've seen in a long time, make the shimano stuff look just terrible...

But they don't make them like that any more, the new 2015 stuff looks nowhere near as good

4 arm cranks are just wrong to look at - likewise those hideous 6 arm Dura-Ace things.

Oh well, it can only add to the value of our retro stuff. Everythng else looks like it's been designed by Darth Vader with the Power Rangers doing the stickers.

I have a friend who 'earned bragging rights' who purchased a full 11sp Super Record group-set and was saying how great they perform, a few months later he was having a rant about his chain-set and his 'stickers' was pealing off all around the edges, now that's quality for you.
