Dura Ace Di2 is less than 100g heavier than regular dura ace. Not bad at all...

Battery technology is getting seriously advanced now too, making things lighter and more durable. High times!

electronic shifters are LOADS lighter than mechanical ones. Mechs are a bit heavier, but it balances out. Electric cables are probably lighter than cable op ones too

Soon your gears will be linked to strava via the cloud and it will automatically put you in the best/fastest (samething in the world of modern bikes) gear for the section you are riding through. Then will come auto steering :mrgreen:

Very good point.

I do wonder at all the posited benefits of the larger wheel combined with the anaesthetising of trails to make them more cycle friendly..

Seems a lot of people want all terrain to mean smooth and predictable as tarmac.

I guess that explains the surge in road bike sales, people are expecting all the off road trails to be suitable for them soon.
