I've got a set of those you can have for postage. They're great tyres - if you like fixing punctures. :x

Honestly, I don't think I ever managed more than 15 miles on the damn things without getting a puncture. I replaced them with a set of Schwalbe Sammy Slicks which have a "Raceguard" protection belt; I still get the occasional puncture, but maybe one every 100 or so miles.

Maybe it's where I ride, there's a lot of flint where I am, and when I get a puncture it's almost always a small sliver of sharp flint that's the cause, in other parts of the country this may not be such an issue.

In any case, this is a Sammy Slick, quite similar to the Wildgripper:

When they weren't flat, they were quite nice tyres, it's just that they ended up flat far too often for my liking.

I really rate Schwalbe tyres; I have them on all three of my bicycles now, a set Marathon Plus on my "shopping" bike, they're heavy, but I haven't had a puncture in 2000 miles or more; I don't even bother taking a pump and a spare tube any more.

I've got a set Sammy Slicks and a set of Hurricanes on the other bikes, both of which have some puncture protection and whilst it's not as complete as the Marathon Plus, I get significantly less punctures than I did with some of the unprotected tyres I've tried, like the Maxxis Wormdrives.

Ritchey Speedmax is the original semi slick, very similar in profile to the Sprints

Ritchey did amberwalls, but not sure if the Speedmax was offered in that guise.
IIRC Speedmax was designed for the Atlanta Olympic course (and won the gold too)

Ha sorry, didn't include my mock outrage emocon...

GF has one on the rear of hers, only tyre I've seen almost down the the canvas since I was a poor uni student in '92...and she doesnt ride mucxh (fyi, it is currently flat as a tack)
