I've just bought a Nokia 5230 (Symbian OS) with GPS and want to start tracking my rides. I've downloaded a few free apps like Sporty Pal, GPSed and eGPSTrack. I couldn't get MapMyTracks to install properly for some reason. Anyway of them only GPSed seems to work where I can upload the track and it shows me it in googlemaps (but doesn't show elevation/speed charts etc).

Are there any better free or low cost apps that I could use esp where I could see progress on a map live for example. How much or how can I do it so it overlays onto cached Ordnance Survey maps?

probably cant help with your specific problem, but im pretty good with symbian.

what did it say when it didnt install properly?

imapmyride (app and site) is quite good

ridewithgps (website) is also quite good, but doesn't have a dedicated app like the previous one.

well it installed but it was like it didn't realise this phone was a touchscreen one and I couldn't enter any info.

thought nokia did their own gps app, Enid Puceflange (macretro) on here uses it, ask him.

they have ovi maps which is good for roads etc but I was looking for OS type mapping. I've since found Viewranger, but it looks a bit pricey for the OS maps.

errrr.....

S60 V5 I think (it's a brand new Nokia 5230).

Signed or unsigned? Not sure. Would need to have another go. Can't just now as have poor reception to download again (deleted install files).
