Re-buy-cycle.co.uk have got an interesting bike in that looks like an early Specialised. Like the Stumpjumper it seems to be Japanese made.

Anybody know anything about them ?

I'm not after buying it myself in case any of you are interested.

Cheers

..if it´s the black steel one with DX parts and a FM1 hardlite tubeset it sure is a nice bike (had one BITD)
...wolber rims, U-brake and such...? what do they ask for it?

Here it is, in the 1986 catalogue:

The 90s catalogues are not complete. The higher end mountainbikes are missing.

Miyata started with mountainbikes in '83. 1st RidgeRunner featured a welded steel frame. Koga Miyata started with MTBs 3 years later, being one of the 1st to market MTBs overhere in the NLs.

In the 80s Specialized had frames made with Miyata, but they were higher end road offering. I am not aware of any Specialized MTB made by Miyata. I recall the 1st Stumpy was made by Toyo!
