Hmmm, stinks a bit of the 'tootbrush' affair where a bidder and a partner put in a couple of high bids to put all others off and then withdraw them late into the bidding when most potential bidders have lost interest.
Personally I think bid retraction shouldn't be allowed. Fine, if you enter the wrong amount you will know that straight away (especially after you enter the bid and then confirm the bid and then see you bid in quick succession) not days later, so give people a 30 minute window for that. If you want to ask the seller something then do so before you bid, so that 'can't contact seller' excuse is a nonsense too.
All that said, that is still a pile of cash, although no where near the daft Klein prices that people pay.
