Well if the middle east goes "south" so to speak the world economy could be stuck for a bit, low oil production won't just affect car drivers.

It's almost like a "perfect storm"...

• The state is up to its tits in debt, so handouts are being reduced while taxes are going up
• Inflation's rising, so base lending rates will have to rise to correct that
• Families are up to their tits in mortgage debt, so any increase in interest rates is gonna hurt
• People are spending less, so businesses are struggling to stay afloat and keep workers employed
• Instability in the middle east is driving oil prices up, which will affect the price of anything that has to be transported

How does that Persian curse go? "May you live in interesting times..."

I think it's very difficult for us, as westerners, to see him as anything other than the Spitting Image puppet. Truth is, he's a determined, ruthless politician. An out-and-out madman can't be in charge of a country for 41 years.

We see the videos of him ranting, but I don't think they mean the same to us as they do to his people.
