[Messed up idea] Extending rear shock on ML7

I just came up with this, My ML7 has a MacPherson strut shock which can be extended like this right?

REAR END -> Upper shock eyelet -> Extender [10mm?] -> front triangle

tl;dr: Is it safe and doable to extend the upper eyelet?

But why would you want to? It'll just steepen the head angle, won't give you any more travel but will increase the BB height.
Seems rather pointless.
