Merlin Malt frame (18" new and unused circa 93-96)SOLD

Whoever buys this frame might be interested to know that Gil-m now has a template for the period Merlin decals. Just finished rebuilding mine.

tis me who bought it, have looked at your frame also gerry and while they are similar i.e cable routing the drop outs and hanger on mine are quite different, how are we iding this as a merlin, not that im bothered its clean and shiney, is the gear hanger set up original do we know?

Hi Charlieboy,

I've come to believe it's almost impossible to be 100% definite about identifying old Merlins since their use of frame suppliers seemed to vary. I've assumed mine is genuine because of the photo's of it in its tatty state when I bought it - why would anyone want to rebadge it Merlin when they could have chosen a sexier/trendier name.

As far as I know the hangers on mine are original, and they are completely different to yours, but not sure that means anything. Whatever make it is I've now started riding it and it works for me. Here's a photo of the finished bike including Gil-m decals

The photos of mine through the rebuild are in my thread http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... highlight=

Hope this helps
