Will these 9 speed Derailleurs work on a seven speed setup.

the mech was designed for 8 speed but will work with anything from 6-9

the front mech should also be fine, but not 100% sure

Yes, no trouble with either. I run modern mechs with 1990 7 speed thumbies on a 7 speed cassette.

Thats what i wont to do. Deore thumies with a HG setup

So long as the mech will move from the small sprocket to the big one when bolted up then it will be fine. Then set the stops and the b-tension screw.
