Thanks, got a BETD meanwhile. Yes these are expensive, but I could convert my old Bomber Z1 fork to 29", cheaper than buying a fork.

Clever thinking. I've a BETD brace too, hadn't considered that as a possibility. What's the tyre clearance like to the bottom of the crown?

A few mm's with 29x2.0 tyre, that's 48mm tall. Larger tyre wouldn't really fit, but it's just a country trail bike.
Looks really cool though in reality. Fork travel is now only about 60mm.
