Marin Muirwoods : Too far gone to save ?

Re:

What do you all reckon, worth saving ?

I have a seat and bottlecage en route and I need a proper seatpost ;)

Only the frame, forks, stem, handlebar and headset were usable due to the corrosion.

Re:

Yeah, that works. At a distance I thought "ah a gravel bike" the modernist term
For a bike, that can be used on gravel? Whatever!

Anyhow, just cosmetic now where issues are but, it's nothing really.
That's a bike that could be used for any purpose. Leant on a brick wall, chained to a railing etc...you wont be worried. Basically what bikes were for.

Bottom bracket. Was it like turning a spoon in a box of lego. Or good and usable?

Re:

Cosmetics are fine for me. I cleaned it to death and spray-varnished it all to seal it. I didnt want to spend on a refurb and end up damaging it. I prefer the original look where it shows its age but rides nice.

The BB was utterly ruined. I tried loads of WD40, heat and brute force but it wouldnt budge. Eventually I clamped it in a big vice and two of us managed to shift the cups using the frame as a lever instead.
Much easier :)
