I have to say I havent been around much in the last 6 months but when I have i have been put off by bickering and quite honestly general shite that seem to bless what is a cracking forum. The general off-topic forum seems to be used these days as forum "celebs" twittering complete bollox from every min of there lives

Bring back the old days I say 8)

(the above isnt just in reference to MM either though his name was normally attached somewhere in the threads  )

I agree completely. I've been less active here for a good 6/8 months because of inappropriate and sometime offensive posting. I only picked up this thread as a curious look at what trouble and strife is occuring in my absense. Says a lot i think?

Do you have a point, other than you can read and think others cannot?

Why does it bother you so much?

Anyway, typical mm style thread, 9 pages and counting, lots of black and white with very little centre ground.

mm will be very happy to read it all.

Will he be proud to read that a lot of decent members removed themselves from the site?

I think. He definitely had his positive side. He helped alot of people. Gave alot of karma. Hell he gave IDB1 a free king headset. Anyway here are a few of the most helpful threads of Scotts. I think this thread should be ended on a positive note. Scott was far from all bad.

There are may forms of Karma with referance to Mohanīya karma from Jainism.

Mohanīya karma translated this means Deluding karma This karma is an instrumental cause of destruction the soul's right belief and right conduct. It is understud that of all the karmas, deluding karma is the most difficult to overcome. Once this is eradicated from the spirit, liberation is ensured within a few lifetimes.

A lot of those menbers need to grow a pair.

A 'general chat' thread is just what it says on the tin, its easy to enjoy the site and be a fully active member without ever looking in that one section if it upsets you so much.
And to state that MM's views were often so offensive as put you off coming back to the site is just plain poppycock.

If anything, MM's views just created a good basis for interesting counter argument.

Try spending tome on STW and, er, pretty much every other forum on the planet and you'll soon see offensive opinions/people in spades.

thing is though he had several temporary bans for that type of behavior which should have told him that if you want to be that way it wasn't acceptable here even if it was elsewhere on the internet.

if you get a ban and you keep doing the same thing over and over again whether public or not eventually you would be asked or told to leave the party.

retrobike has always had a more calm air to it, mostly i think due to the fact that the users are generally over 30, this meant that we as a group had risen above the macho-ness and bravado of youth, then someone comes along and upsets the the balance and as a result gets himself banned at which point the lines are drawn between the people who did and didn't get on with him.

but if he only had 200 posts and had said/done the things he had no one would have missed him but because of his 10,000 post count he was known to everyone and not anonymous.
