Marin FRS Rift Zone

Haha yeah, well it doesn't hurt to double check ay.

I wonder why this other guy on here can't fit his 165 and has been told 185 though....

That sounds like incompitance more than anything else. Theres no reason why you couldnt fit a shorter or longer shock but doing so would alter the geometry

Anyway, proof is in the picture :P

You wouldnt be able to fit a longer shock unless you remove a bit of the seat tube
i didnt take much of a look at the frame before i posted but i stand corrected

I guess that doesnt apply if fitting a shorter shock?

Re:

There is a bar across the rear hanger if I remember correctly which would hit the seat tube, so I don't think you could fit a shorter one. Can you get shorter than 165 anyway...?

Vwhy would you want a shorter shock? You'll dramatically alter the geometry and handling - negatively of course.
Shock sizes are prescriptive with these frames. Be glad it's a common 165mm, and not the awkward 185mm as fitted on the Attack Trail of the same vintage.

Re:

The incompetent guy on here has just fitted his new shock, according to Fox it is 184.1mm. You need pictures?
