PLEASE HAVE A LOOK
HE WANTS £250 BUT I TOLD HIM THATS WAY TWO MUCH SO JUST THOUGHT OFFERS AT ME,,,,,,,,,,
Hi im putting this post up for a friend, He has had a marin from when he was younger, but he moved away for years, hes back and dug out the old marin, and he wants to sell it but he does know what marin it is?
Am hoping someone on here will may be able to id it for him
i think the thing that may help id it is the down tube as it is not round,,
its shaped like a 20p piece but with more sides if you know what i mean??
Its got a full set of XTR M900? crank,brakes,hubs,gears,headset, ext.
MANITOU answer forks, the inners look in good nick but don't rebound two well
everything works well and all the xtr and other components are in really good condition
The frame itself is very light but needs attention as its rusting in parts,
I have put some photos up but they're not very clear please have a look see what you think?
What he wants is to find out the model of it is, what its worth, it is a really nice bike and will of been expensive when new, it would make a good project for someone as its a bit too much for me, Tinker. I HAVE HAD A GOOD LOOK AND ITS
ONLY TOP RUST NOT TWO BAD IT HAS NOT EATEN IN TO THE FRAME MUCH AT ALL BUT WILL STILL NEED SOME ATTENTION, if interested let me know ASAP please AS THERE IS A FEW PEOPLE INTERESTED,, THANKS

Given that it's made from Tange Ultimate Ultrastrong, I'm guessing a Team or Team Issue. The fat "Afterburner" seat stays suggest post 1990. ...fat afterburner stays were 1991 onwards...My money is on a Team Issue, with that tubing, and a 1992 one at that. Shame it has been so neglected as it should be a nice bike...just looks like this has been left in someones back garden/pond! for the last 10 years!

Looks like a 1992 team issue, nickel plated. The horrendous rust gives that away
If the forks have been on a while they may need a service too, soft elastomers n that.
The stem looks to be missing the pulley wheel for the original fork/brake set up, no big deal as they can be found on other stems and robbed out.

A top machine back then and with some elbow grease should be good to roll again for another 22yrs!

What else do you need to know?

For a valuation, that can vary somewhat, try posting here...viewtopic.php?f=1&t=29681

That may be quicker to get a cash estimation.

Or, simply post it up for sale in the sale section and see how you get on. Set a firm price and describe it all best you can, fork condition, wheels running fine etc...
