I love the suspense! I wish all rare / expensive bikes would go through the same process as long as the final selling price is posted on here. I've lost countless rare bikes by people putting 'dibs' on the thread. At least this way everyone has a chance of purchasing. I sometimes get the feeling some people sit at their computer all day hitting the refresh button ;-)

There is an element of truth in this - I guess the problem is that the 'first come first served', is the only real fair way to do it - I hate thinking I'm entering a bidding war which is essentially a 'blind auction', much worse be played off against others who are willing to bid more than me for maximum sale. Saying that, I won't deny I've done deals in PM's before because I have.

I think it does go against the ethos of the site though and it's something that has to be protected, even if it does mean sitting and hitting the refresh button every half hour at work

I've lost out on plenty but also grabbed some bargains too - it works both ways...

sorry but maybe we haven't understood: I'm not doing an auction or accept offers to rise.
for the PM I said to everyone, in order of arrival.
First come first has priority: some accept exchanges so if the latter has a bike that interests me most, the first warning.
Mantis had just posted the price: it was done so.
The others were building them together especially the fat.
Anyway sorry for the misunderstanding and here are the pictures:
