Some of you might be interested in this, so here goes.
Following THIS thread about the bike rack I won on Ebay that doesn't fit my roof bars. Well as they aren't selling I had an idea about making them fit my bars.
You can see the problems here. The bar is too wide for the clamp bolts to get around.
So I made a plate that the QR part could bolt to, and some small sliders for the grooves in the roof bars from some 2mm ali I had in the garage
Make sure they work, they do, so make another plate for the rear wheel carrier.
Tidy them up with the wire brush.
Fitting the front plate to the bar
Looks like it's gonna work, so mount everything up and hey presto, a working bike rack.
Now I know it works and holds the bike securely, I may well remake the plates with a bit more finesse.
I just need to get hold of an allen key type QR for a bit of added security.
