I am (or rather was, in my pre-boating days) a keen homebrewer.

It's a great hobby, and very entertaining.

1l Merrydown bottles are a good choice for bottling. Although you have to drink a lot of cider to get enough to start.

Oh, and if it goes wrong don't pour it onto your dad's lawn like I did when I was 16. It killed everything in his garden for a summer.

Good luck to you mate

Me and my cousin got a home brew vodka kit. Did as it said with the exception of adding a colouring as we thought flouro green vodka would be cool.

Flavoured too as it said. With food flavouring. Came out looking good and smelling okay. But to drink. It tasted like. And I can only describe it as this.

The taste you get in your mouth right after you throw up.

Maybe we just can't brew spirits.

I'm going to test the specific gravity this morning. If it is ready I will syphon it into the the pressure barrel.
