I've happened accross some very nice condition Mag 21 forks.
It doesn't take much force to push them all the way down and there isn't much rebound.
Are these air/oil forks or elastomer?

Thanks :)

Good fork. I still have two of them and am putting one on a '90 Trek 970 I am re-doing.

I think 80-100 seems really high. I weigh 225 and I think I used to run mine @ 47 lbs.

I'll check my pump and re post though.

This is from my genuine Rockshox Mag 21 pump.

"Recommended pressure 35-45 psi"

The gauge maxes out at 60psi. I would be careful about over inflating and damaging/ruining the seals. Parts aren't easy to come by for these forks.

Good luck, I hope you grab it up and put it to use.

BTW, it can also be further tuned by the weight and level of the oil used.

air/oil, you'll find service manuals etc and two setup guides in the Archive.
Quadra where the Elastomer budget counter part

40PSI is the pressure to start at.

Standard pump goes to 60PSI, as mentioned, so you can easily see the 1PSI adjustments.
Service pump goes to 100PSI (if anyone cares)

Other things to alter are oil height to alter the spring rate.

Post a picture up while you're at it.

Lubricate the needle valve before inserting it, it will help to prevent damage to the rubber valves and also help seal the valve, mine used to leak like crazy until I lubed the rubber valves. I just smear some fork grease on the needle valve before each insertion.

Simon.

Sorry men, I think I've offered duff info then there......I must have had my fox forks in mind!......it would offer a reason as to why my seals popped though!......
