I have a set of M900 brake/shifter and want to switch to some Ultimate levers. I came across these but unfortunately Moonhead is closed for business. I have been searching for a used set for a while and nothing's come up. Are these really hard to find? Anyone has a source for similar items? Should I give up and go for newer shifter pods instead?

the silver 1s pictured above are VERY similiar to grafton. precision & magura (plastic) also did versions.
not all the STX clamps work, the 4 little splines coming out of the top of the shifter, not all of them always line up with the STX clamp, you might need to re-drill the clamp slightly. pretty easy.. hell i've done it so it must be easy ;)

There were other makers.

I pulled these shifters of an old GT and they had unique, lightweight clamps that work well. Not sure what brand they are but have been told on MTBR.com that they show up once and a while on ebay. If your going to use a Shimano clamp I'd use the STX-RC version because it's a nice polished silver similar to the rest of the M900 parts that are polished.

Yeah I have a set of those shifter pods - I think they were made by Zero.

Hold fire on stripping them! Would you consider swapping for some silver ones I have?
