Hey all, when cleaning up my M735 XT rear mech, the ceramic bush in the top jockey wheel disintegrated....

Anyone know where i can get a replacement? :?

With questions like this I've always wondered why the OP didn't simply post basically the same question into Google?

Anyhoo I lost my ceramic bearing, wearn't available from Simano had to buy/order top jockey. well expensive £20 back in '96.

Do you not think that was my first (albeit fruitless) port of call?

Nothing but complete replacement jockey wheels for 10spd modern, and CNC'd spangly jewellery.

Anyone been in the same position and work a replacement?

The centres out of more common jockey wheels are too big or too small...

They ocasionally pop up on ebay but not very often.

best bet is a wanted Ad on here - i cant help as i used my last good spare set to replace some cartridge ones >< . You may get lucky otherwise it may be worth getting a whole mech for spares. (possibly the only way you may get one)

It's happened to me three times and I only just started to play with bikes;-)

First two the bush came out in two bit's.
First mech I cleaned I replaced the split bush with a good one from a cheap bent mech I bought.
Second time It happened I super glued it back together and I have pulled the jockey wheels off and cleaned them since, it seems to be OK.

I stripped a M737 mech Thursday. It has been getting muddy everyday for a few weeks now and gear changes were not very good[bit of an understatement]. Any way when I stripped it, the bush rolled off the table, oh well I still had some super glue.

If I get stuck for one I will make a steel bush.

I may still have some new ones. If I have not let you know by tomorrow afternoon give me a nudge. After 1 in the morning I start to forget stuff.

Often if you want the correct one, just buy a mech in the wanted.

But Tacx do replacements, and others. Don't look the same though.

and they're not the cheapest part to replace oddly.

I've got a few M73x rear mechs - did think about stripping the worst one for spares.... But i may need it one day!

Worry about a jockey then ;) and like me, you'll have a box of part things ready to be a spare something.
