picked this up yesturday,looks original,little bit of laquer bubble but rides fab,need a new front shifter it wont shift to the top ring.not sure whether to strip it and put the forks and xtr kit on off my gary fisher or swap it,i need a smart phone,any comments about what you think it would be like with the fisher kit on it would be helpful think it might look ace with the sids and bars,seat and wheels on it :?

The M-Trax has only 2 tubes Ti, the down tube and the top tube. The rest of the frame is cr-mo. It's nearly all original spec, so i'd leave it as it is. That said it was a nice bike and hand made at Raleigh Special Products in Nottingham.

thanks for the info,would the bonding be ok if a ran it with the sids,i was told the are weak where they bond into the cromo?
 
There is a lot of rubish talked about bonded frames. Mostly by people who have a friend that something or other happened to them, so pay no heed.

I wouldn't use the SID's. The travel is too much and will throw the geometry.
